Monica is THE ABSOLUTE BEST INSTRUCTOR I have ever had in the 12 yrs I’ve practiced yoga. Ive waited to find the right yoga studio and this one is IT! The design itself is beautiful, with 2 rooms and much more for classes workshops and whatever type of event she has going on each weekend. There is plenty available to balance your chi and maintain a healthy lifestyle ... from aromatherapy, to juices, books, and beautiful crystals and jewelry. There is a HUGE variety of classes offered with various healing modalities within each. Monica Carroll is a Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Holistic Health Coach, and Ayurvedic Health Practitioner who has been teaching yoga, health, fitness, and nutrition for the past 25 years.

Most of Monica's influence has come from her lengthy fitness and investigative background coupled with a love and passion for yoga and its principles .  Unable to find studios or gurus in HB and as an investigator, Monica uncovered the many philosophies of yoga herself. Early in her yoga journey, Monica researched and traveled to the leading gurus in the area and saturated herself with intensives, workshops, lectures, and as many master classes from as many accomplished yogis of our generation as she could access.  Her in person studies include, but are not limited to

Monica holds certifications in Hot yoga, Vinyasa/Power yoga, Advanced Vinyasa/Power yoga, Holistic Nutrition, and Ayurvedic Diagnostics.  

Monica holds prior certifications in PERSONAL TRAINING, AEROBICS, SPORTS NUTRITION, and GROUP FITNESS which have all influenced her teaching style.  Her workouts are designed to be interesting, challenging, but approachable.  Her style is lighthearted fun, with tough love influence and the results are always the same; obvious in strength, clarity in mind, and addictive. She mixes many techniques, styles, and influences to create unique workouts that work the entire body system.  This philosophy and way to train has become HARD yoga.

Monica's approach on nutrition and holistics are a real life approach.  AWARENESS is the secret to nutritional success.  It is hard to deny truth and there is plenty to be learned in the field of nutrition.  Big agriculture, (RAISING AND EATING COWS FOR FOOD)  government subsidies, and Genetically Modified Foods are causing tremendous destruction on the future of our planet and our health.  Children have high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, cancers, auto immune disorders, and other problems commonly found in seniors.  Heart attacks and other serious illnesses and diseases are showing up in younger and younger adults. Auto immune, Diabetes, Obesity; all of which are LIFESTYLE DISEASES, AND ARE REVERSIBLE, are taking over.  If caught early and the diet changes, it can reverse, but left untreated turns chronic and leads to disease then death. Monica's interest in nutrition began in her 20’s and she quickly became known as the Go To person for healthy tasty alternatives to traditionally prepared foods.  It was through these interests that lead her to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Miriashi Ayurveda Acedemy.  “Teaching people how to create nourishing and great tasting food is empowering to me.”  Her nutrition approach is reasonable and easily adaptable.

I wanted to try a new workout, but I was admittedly intimidated to try yoga as I didn’t think it would be for me or my body type. I feel so fortunate to have mustered up the courage to walk in the door and give it a try. Monica’s knowledge and commitment to fitness, health, & overall wellbeing is exceptional. The classes are always challenging, never mundane, and the results speak for themself. I am brand new to yoga. My wife has been going to Monica’s for the past year (she’s at a new address on Warner from Springdale) and I have noticed a difference in her mental and physical well being. I am training for a half Ironman next year and wanted to start my training with something new, so I started attending Hard Yoga. To my surprise, my overall core strength has leaped past my expectations. My shoulder injury is actually getting better and I am learning something new (and challenging) along the way. The instructors are all FANTASITC! They teach beginners and seasoned yogis in one class with individual attention and help. I recommend Monica’s Hard Yoga.
